MISSION:  The mission of the Central State Hospital Foundation, Inc. is to improve the quality of life of clients served at Central State Hospital by providing assistance to support and expand programs for professional development and morale enhancement.

History and Purpose
The Central State Hospital Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit, private corporation established in 1982 to offer financial support not otherwise provided through state funds for professional development, continuing education and recruitment of staff with direct care of clients at Central State Hospital. Initially, the primary focus of the foundation was in assisting with nursing recruitment but in recent years the foundation has taken on an additional role in assisting in employee morale enhancement programs.

Board Members
The Central State Hospital Foundation, Inc. has a 15 member board which represent retirees of Central State Hospital and community leaders with a vested interest in the hospital and the community. The board includes a Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer that are elected annually.

Foundation Activities & Funding Projects
 Throughout the year, the CSH Foundation, Inc. hosts numerous fundraisers that benefit the clients and staff at Central State Hospital. They are:

  • The Annual Scholarship Golf Classic

  • Associate Membership Drive*

  • Attic Sale & Silent Auction

  • Cookbook and Specialty Items Sales

Projects the foundation funds are:

  • Scholarships for Nurse Education

  • Continuing Education Seminars

  • Employee Recognition Programs

  • Retirement Programs

Associate Membership Drive
 Central State Hospital Foundation, Inc. is currently seeking associate members to be affiliated with the foundation. Membership is open to individuals, families, sponsors, small businesses, and corporate businesses at different membership levels. Those who become members will benefit from knowing that they are helping to ensure that the quality of care for the clients at CSH is greatly enhanced. In addition, members will receive quarterly updates of the foundation activities and may attend an annual reception to acknowledge the recent accomplishments of the foundation and set priorities for the future.
